What is Final Fantasy 13 missing?

Hiya!

Lotsa friends of mine have been asking me to purchase Final Fantasy 13 for my brother's Playstation 3. First of all, my brother hates RPGs, he only loved violence and JUST violence. Second of all, Final Fantasy 13 is missing a huge number of key factors that made the Final Fantasy franchise so awesome. I made a list purely based on my own opinions and I'm sure I played enough Final Fantasy games to judge this game from ground zero.

Behold! The 5 precious things that are missing from Final Fantasy 13!

5. The Victory Fanfare!
Without a doubt, every single or majority of Final Fantasy has this similar tune after every battle (Or after a boss battle for Final Fantasy 12). It's commonly known as the the victory fanfare! It has this cheery and cute tune which makes you feel good about yourself! Final Fantasy 13 has this 2-3 second victory fanfare and I don't feel all victorious after any battle. Why break the tradition?

4. Moogles!
Why isn't there any cute, adorable and cuddly Moogles in Final Fantasy 13? WHY? I have so much Moogle plushies in my room! It's one of the reasons why I love Final Fantasy so much! Why did the developers have to take Moogles out of the game? *sob*

3. Controlling all characters!
Majority of Final Fantasy games allowed you to control every character. Instead, we get AIs and can only control the main character. This factor alone completely takes out the turn based battle system from the game. It's definitely not a Final Fantasy game anymore. It's all Sci-Fi and I hate it. Final Fantasy games should be slow and steady, allowing you to make wise moves to an enemy, not all fast paced like this game.

2. Airships, Spaceships, Towns! Where are they?
Most Final Fantasy games allowed free roam around their world! Be it on the Ragnarok in Final Fantasy 8 or the Invincible in Final Fantasy 9. Wouldn't it be awesome and breathtaking at the same time, free roaming around with a spaceship, admiring what the Final Fantasy 13 graphic engine has to offer? No, all we get is dungeons, dungeons and more dungeons. To add-on, no towns as well? *sob sob*

1. Biggs and Wedge?
No Biggs and Wedge? NO. Hehe, I'm just kidding. I couldn't find a final factor!

So hey. I can't bring myself to purchase a copy. Sorry Final Fantasy 13 fans. I would rather have a graphically enhanced Final Fantasy 1-9, than a traditionally broken Final Fantasy 13. It's a no-go. The story may be engaging, the eye-candy may be breathtaking but it is definitely NOT a Final Fantasy for me anymore.

Dear Infinity Ward..

Are you serious IW? $15 ($20 when converted into SGD) for a Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack DLC? Are you guys out of your minds?

The contents of this DLC = 5 new maps, which includes 2 old maps from Call of Duty 4.

Others may think that paying 20 mere bucks for 3 new and 2 old maps for multiplayer gameplay is very cheap. Hell, I'm definitely not going to pay 2o bucks for 3 new maps! It would be better if IW did it like Battlefield, have a veteran program.

The Veteran Program works like this.. Using Battlefield as a reference. If you own more than one Battlefield copy of any title, you're entitled to a Veteran Level 1. At Level 1, you get to unlock a special gun named the M1 Garand for use in Battlefield Bad Company 2. Think about this, let's bring Call of Duty into the picture. Let's say if you have earlier versions before MW2, like Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare. The players could use their COD4 CD-Key to unlock maps into MW2. BUT, IW insists on a worthless 20 bucks DLC of pixels. The Veteran Program is what made us, loyal Battlefield customers happy to own more than one Battlefield game.

Let's see what we can purchase with 20 bucks.
~20 Empty DVDs for burning stuff
A food spread at a hawker centre
A cheap game [Probably better than MW2] in eBay
And so much more.

Like every other guy, I can afford 20 bucks. I can't offer my 20 bucks to IW because they absolutely don't cater to their customers. IW took out Dedicated Servers, Mods and Punkbuster from MW2. MW2 got raped by IW, seriously. Look at Call of Duty 4. People are still purchasing it, it's still alive and kicking due to mods. Look at MW2. People hacking everywhere and the worst part, hackers don't get banned, they prevail! Every Ground War I played, there had to be at least one hacker in the midst, owning everywhere. Balance and fairplay is dead in MW2.

To IW: Don't release a DLC for an already broken down, hacked Modern Warfare 2. Fix the damn game before releasing anything else. I mean what I said, I won't purchase the $20 DLC until everything is fixed. Period.

Introductions!

HIYA! My name is Ereeen! Ok sweet. I created this blog together with a gaming friend of mine, John, who is an overly addicted gamer and also, porn (I said it!). Alrightee, so my friend and I will be sharing our gaming lives with anyone who is reading this blog. I don't expect it to be hugely popular YET, but soon to be. I'm currently residing in Singapore but I'm heading to Tokyo, Japan soon after my A levels to pursue my dreams. Gaming is not my dream, I'm pursuing to be a drawing artist. Yes, I hate studying...

Enuff with that! About my gaming experiences...

I love the Final Fantasy series especially FF5 and 6, Xenogears (Fei & Bart <3), style="text-align: center;">~~~

Hi there.

My name's John.. And I hate Erin for saying that I'm addicted to porn. (Is there a doctor who can cure my addiction for porn in Fallout 3?)

To start. I'm updating this blog in collaboration with one of my most trusted friends, Erin. I knew her since Granado Espada started. We were in a guild named Rasalhague, but unfortunately it closed down because the guild master had to go. The whole guild died and we were left to fend for ourselves. Right now, she's kinda like my sidekick. About me? I'm currently on my goal to be a games designer and enrolling in ITE MacPherson to pursue my Higher Nitec certificate. Unlike Erin, I have a passion for games! Okay, maybe not so much but I played games throughout my life. When Erin's on hiatus, I'll be here to provide the juiciest updates! Stay tuned!

So about my gaming experiences..

I started playing when I was in Primary 1. My dad bought my first console, an NES lookalike which ALSO plays similar NES games. One of the very first NES games I played was Final Fantasy 3 which is my favorite out of the FF series. I, too, loved the Final Fantasy series, along with Xenogears. My second console was a Sega Saturn, which featured many of the arcade games you would find in public arcades, but in an enhanced version. I loved Daytona USA and Virtua Cop on the SS.

My third console, which is also a breakthrough, is the Playstation. Most of my favorite games are Playstation ones. I still have it, have yet to sell it, might be keeping it forever. Then comes my PC which I started playing MMORPGs with it. I'll update more of my PC experiences soon to come. My last console is a Playstation 2, which I gotten help from a friend to purchase it at a really reasonable price despite its rarity.

The games I love are Final Fantasy 3, Xenogears, Metal Gear Solid series, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Grand Theft Auto and Fatal Frame. I love retro games as well, but they're too many to list.

In the future, we would be updating our experiences with online/offline games. There might be rants, complaints, congratulations and more. Stay tuned and share your feelings with us!

Peace,

John
